Vocational Service is stressed in Rotary’s Object in these words: “To encourage and foster high ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society.”

Our vocations are the basis of of our membership’s “classifications”. Each member brings their particular areas of expertise and their diverse community, professional, commercial and social networks to help our club and all its members do what they do better, together.

The Rotary Club of Heirisson has over the years conducted a variety of Vocational Service projects:

Vocational Mentoring

Many Heirisson members act as mentors or advisors to emerging businesses and young community leaders, or not-for profit groups. While they undertake these roles in their private professional capacity, introduction to this opportunity for service frequently occurs through Rotary’s network.

Rotary Youth Programs

Because of practical synergies between our Vocational Service and many of Rotary’s Youth Programs, traditionally the Vocational Directorate includes many of these programs as annual project opportunities, as needs or interests are expressed by members, friends, schools or other interested in developing new generations. Effectively Rotarians use their vocational skills to assist in developing younger generations to help foster a better future for us all.
